Stop me if you heard this one. Prestige Worldwide was the top scoring team in the league this week. That’s right, for the second straight week, Prestige Worldwide posted the highest point total. Led by Player of the Week Lamar Jackson, Prestige dropped Grande Fantasmas 148-111. Jackson had a whopping 48 fantasy points. That’s a heck of a game for a guy who’s NFL team lost. The Tampa Bay defense added 27 and Cooper Kupp another 22. With two TOWs, Worldwide is obviously out to a fast 2-0 start.
Having already knocked out Team of the Week and Player of the Week, let me talk about the best game of the week. Florida SeaBreeze got their first win in our humble little league, beating GG 104-100. It was a Monday night QB duel. Jalen Hurts won the battle for GG with 37 points, but Kirk Cousins 16 on top of what SeaBreeze already had won the war.
Quite frankly, I don’t see much to talk about in the other games. Digital Blitz and Rimskis Raiders both scored thirty plus point victories with very strong performances. The Blitz had 137 while the Raiders had 128. And Fooball and the Scammers both got large victories despite not reaching the century mark. Sorry to under sell those teams and games, but I recognized owners in this league are only moved by the exceptional, and these games were just ordinary (the truth, feeling a little lazy in the article writing portion of my job).
We do have to cast another team of Survivor Island. While it was very kind and generous of our defending league champion to only score 70 against your humble commissioner, I am obligated by the powers vested in me as commish, to kick the Willow Run Flyers off the island.
A quick look at the standings show only three team left who are undefeated. Worldwide and the Raiders lead the Paul Brown division. Three teams are nesting goose eggs in the win column after two weeks, but only the Old England Patriots are two games out of first. They are in the same division as the third undefeated team, Steel City FooBall.
GAME OF THE WEEK
I like ‘em easy. Prestige Worldwide puts their perfect start on the line in week three against the equally undefeated Steel City FooBall. Worldwide has already outscored the rest of the league by nearly fifty points. They have cruised to two early wins despite having more than 110 points averaged against them in the first two games.
Steel City FooBall has been a little less impressive. Maybe even a bit fortunate. They’ve haven’t hit a hundred points scored yet, and escaped week one with a 1 points victory. They will be hard pressed to stay undefeated against Prestige, and Scammer is setting the betting line at Prestige Worldwide -25 ½.
