Nothing a little name change can’t fix. And fortunately Cincinnati Brown doesn’t lend itself to any off color jokes. Matter of fact, that would be pretty khaki of me. I might even get tanned from some sights if I did that.
After a couple of difficult seasons to start their TFFL career, Cincinnati Brown announced their presence with authority in 2024. They beat Dans Destroyers 135-75. You can do that when you get two players who score thirty points. Anthony Richardson had 32 and Saquon Barkley had 31. It is a good start for Brown, who picks up an important division win to start.
The Milford Marauders were close behind, thanks in no small part to the Player of the Week Josh Allen. Allen had 37 for the Marauders, who dropped the Warriors 131-61. Guess that gives the Marauders honors for now. Tyreek Hill did his best Hudini to escape police cuffs just long enough to add 19.
Only one game snuck under the ten point threshold to be called a good game. That was the Ducks 105-96 victory over two timing defending champion, who in true championship form blamed his loss on an injured quarterback. C’mon dude, Love was hurt on the next to last play. The Ducks scored a hundred despite no players reaching the twenty point mark. There were kickers who did better than that this week.
I Got Boom ripped the heart out of the Flippin Birds. Too Soon? I can never tell. Boom won 97-57. Lamar Jackson was game MVP with 29. I bet we hear more about the Flippin Birds in a little bit.
The Renegades picked up a 97-86 victory over the Great Dismal Swamp Monsters. The Dallas Cowboys defense picked up the slack for a faltering Patrick Mahomes. The Cowboys had 21 in the win.
And the Scammers won their opener, beating the Moondogs 93-83. Jalen Hurts scored 26. So did Jake Moody, the Moondogs kicker. Six field goals, two fifty yarders and a couple extra points.
SURVIVOR
I told you we’d talk about the Birds again. All Birds, no bees in this story. No happy endings either. Just a early trip to Davey Jones locker.
GAME OF THE WEEK
We have an interesting schedule this week. Every game is a matchup of 1-0 teams or a matchup of 0-1 teams. So we know at weeks end there will be three 2-0 teams, six 1-1 teams and three 0-2 teams.
For the game of the week, I’m going to pick the one that is also a division game. The Milford Marauders hit the road and travel to the Scammers. The Marauders got a huge day from Josh Allen in week one. But Jalen Hurts should be a reasonable counter for the Scammers. The winner of this game will have the early lead in the George Halas division.

I'm in mid-season form. Have not updated for 2024. But I am thinking about it.
