It takes Multiple Scoregasms a while to warm up, but when they do, they are hard to stop. They are back on top of the heap in week seven after a 136-108 win over the Flippin Birds. Jahmir Gibbs had 28 while Jordon Love and Joe Mixon added 26 and 24 respectively. Hell, they even got another 23 from Tank Bigsby. Now before you get all jealous of Scoregasms and their running backs, there is a price to pay for that much talent at one position. Their wide receivers scored 6 and 4.

Lamar Jackon did everything he could to bring IGot Boom back to a victory. His 46 points earned him Player of the Week. But it wasn’t enough to overcome Dan’s Destroyers in a 116-97 decision. The Destroyers got 23 from the Broncos defense, and 21 more from Gino Smith. Both teams are among a whole gaggle of teams at 4-3.

The Renegades pull out a Monday night comeback behind Captain Baker the touchdown maker. The Renegades won 98-97 in the best game of the week when Baker Mayfield scored 37 on Monday night. Javonte Williams added another 23 for the Renegades. Tough loss for the Warriors, who only got 18 from their stud quarterback Joe Burrow.

Another good game was the Scammers beat the Great Dismal Swamp Monsters 96-90. This was a Monday night comeback that fell short. The Swamp Monsters got 24 from Kyler Murray in the loss, but a lack luster performance from Marvin Harrison undermined the comeback bid.

Are the Oky Ducks the best team in the league. By record they are. The Ducks are the only team at 5-2 after a 114-96 win over the Kentucky Moondogs. The Rams defense was the top scorer for the Ducks with 21. Breece Hall added another 20 in front of former president Donald Trump Sunday night.

And the Cincinnati Browns got to 4-3 with a 91-80 win over the Milford Marauders. Saquon Barkley stuck it to his former team in New York in this one, scoring 24 fantasy points.

SURVIVOR Survivor is getting tougher. Early in the year, eight points will keep you around. Not now. Although 80 was the low number in the entire league this week. So it wouldn't have matters. Oh! Who owns this score. The Marauders. They are off Survivor Island now.

A LOOK AT THE STANDINGS
Don’t look now, but the season is half over. Amazing how time fast goes when you are counting by football games.

Midseason always provides a good opportunity to look at the standings. The Oky Ducks are the champions of the first half of the season. At 5-2, that is stand-alone as the best record in the league. They hold a one game lead over Cincinnati Brown and Dans Destroyers in the Paul Brown division.

The Milford Marauders and Scammers are tied atop the Halas division. Both teams are in the bottom half of the league in scoring, making them very vulnerable to the team that is one game back. The Flippin Birds lead the league in scoring and would win any tie breakers if they can pick up a game from third place.

The Lombardi division will be a three team race. The Warriors, Boom and Renegades are all 4-3. The standings are currently set by points scored, and in that area it looks like a two team race between the Birds and Warrior.

At the halfway point, there is a very clean break between teams in and teams out of the playoffs. Eight teams have winning records, and seven of them are 4-3. All those teams would be in right now. Of teams looking for wildcard spots, the Moondogs are in the worse spot. 1-6 probably means they need to win five games down the stretch to have a chance. That’s a pretty tall order.

Next up the list are the Great Dismal Swamp Monsers. They are 2-5, and will probably need at least four wins to have a playoff shot. Not impossible, especially for a bit of a hard luck team. But not an ideal starting position.

Multiple Scoregasms and the Flippin Birds are in very interesting positions. At 3-4, they are on the outside looking in. But both are in the top half of the league in points scored, with the Birds actually being the highest scoring team. With so many teams at 4-3, it is inevitable at least one will have a bad second half. If they do, the Birds and Scoregasms are poised to take the spot on tie breakers.

MONEY MATTERS
I made a significant change to the Money Matters sections of the article page, which I think will make tracking money with owners easier for me. I’ve added the payments to my database. Previously it was just maintained with text on the page. That was both lazy and inefficient. While the DB was a bit more work, I think it will help me in the long run.

The new money matters page will list each owner, their current team name and their status of whether they owe money or are owed money. The Balance column has the amount owed and the Transaction History link will refresh the page and show all your open transactions. This should help you see if and when you made a payment or received prize money.

So before I wake Guido up to start cappin’ knees, check out the money matters at the bottom of the article to see if you still owe me your entry fee.

GAME OF THE WEEK
Easy choice this week. The top scoring team in the league visits the team with the best record. The Flippin Birds travel to the Mason area to take on the Oky Ducks. Lamar Jackson may be having another MVP season. Seems like I’ve mentioned his name a couple time in the POW part of the article.

The Ducks may be starting Justin Herbert, a quarterback who seems to have fallen off the radar a bit. But the Ducks look to have an advantage at the other skill positions. None of Booms team is forecasted to score double digits this week.

Because they are 3-4, the game is more important to the Birds. But you know the Ducks don’t want to give any ground back. Should be a good game against two of the better teams in the league.
