Leave it to Grande Fantasmas to restore the dignity and pride to the Brillian Manufacturing FFL, the first time in a month the BMFFL has had the top scoring team. Grande Fantasmas beat the Cincinnati Eagles 134-82 in what could be an important win in the race for a wildcard spot. Justin Herbert was the Player of the Week in the BMFFL with 38 points. CeeDee Lamb and Devin Singletary added 28 and 22. Congrats Fantasmas on a big week.
The best game of the week saw the Ohio State Buckeyes drop Prestige Worldwide 92-91. The steal of the season, CJ Stroud, led the way for the Buckeyes (man, that sounds familiar) with 27. Four other Buckeyes scored in double digits. The Buckeye are now 5-5 on the season.
The Digital Scammers escaped week ten with a narrow victory over the Gritz Blitz Falcons 106-100. This was a battle between the two best records in the league. The win gives the Scammers the top mark, and more importantly have allowed the Scammers to clinch a tie for the Paul Brown division title. That is a good place to be with four games to play. Gritz Blitz falls back to just a game up in the Lombardi division.
That’s because the Willow Run Flyers just keep winning. The Flyers third victory in a row was a 93-82 defeat of the Baloony Boiz. Joe Burrow proved a safe bet again with 27 points. The Boiz had to resort to starting Kenny Picket at QB… never a good option. That was the difference in the game. The Flyers are not just one game back of the Falcons.
The battle of the Queens Cup goes to the Old England Patriots. The Patriots dropped their UK rival Rimski Raiders 116-76. The Patriots got 23 from WR Brandin Cooks and 20 from the 49ers defense. That offset a poor quarterback performance. The Patriots are in second place in the Halas division.
And Florida Sea Breeze got back in the win column, beating one of the BMFFLs better teams in Steel City FooBall 102-92. Sam Howell was a pleasant surprise with 32 points. Its Sea Breezes second win of the season, but still leave a glimmer of hope for the post season.
HAPPY NARROWLY MISSES SECONT TOW
Happy almost became the first team to win two Team of the Week Awards. They missed out by just three points. But they did gain a solid win against the suddenly sliding Shakedown 131-114. An impressive seven players score in double digits for Happy, led by CeeDee Lamb with 28. Happy maintains their position at the top of the Shula division.
The Dak Knight Rises was hiding the real Player of the Week under his cape. Dak Prescott scored 47. And the Dak Knight needed every bit of it to knock off the hard luck Beercats 103-94. The Dak Knight is staying close to the Rally Possums, just one game back in the Landry division. The Beercats fall to 3-7 despite having the second most points scored in the league.
The Rally Possums advance to 8-2 with a 120-74 victory over TacoCorp. Justin Herbert was game MVP with 38. Four other players had over ten points. The Rally Possums have not matched Shakedown for the league’s best record.
The best game of the week had Down the Drain knock off the Secret Scammers 102-99. Freaking Sam Howell’s 32 propelled the Drain to the victory. Now that I see who beat me, I’m really not happy about this. I mean, Joshua Dobbs 27 was perfectly predictable. But 32 from Sam Howell. Preposterous. BTW, Drain has won four in a row now, the longest winning streak in the league.
Change is coming. Transformation Worldwide won again. This time they beat Joanne 90-84. Like Sea Breeze above, the second win of the season keeps slim playoff hopes alive. It is a missed opportunity for Joanne, who failed to gain a game on Shakedown.
And Bane beat Momball 107-93. Baker Mayfield was the star of the game with 24. Oh, Joe Burrow actually had more, but Momball didn’t win. Besides, how many more times in our life are we going to be able to recognize Baker Mayfield.
SUPER SURVIVOR
We have reach a critical point in Survivor. We are down to two teams from each league. I’ll explain in a moment why that is important. But first, who got bounced this week.
The Rimski Raiders had a down week, and that made them easy to pick off from the BMFFL. But the cruel elimination this week is Transformation Worldwide. They won for Pete’s sake. How can that get bounced. Well, that what happens when you get down to the end.
So we are down to four Survivors. I shall call them Super Survivors. Two teams from each league. Over the next three weeks, only one of these teams will be eliminated to determine one and only one ultimate survivor. The finalist are… from the Edison Works FFL, Down the Drain and Dak Knight Rises. From the Brilliant Manufacturing FFL, the Ohio State Buckeyes and Steel City FooBall. Good luck to the finalist, may the best team survivor.
LAST WEEK TO VOTE FOR ALL 25 SEASON TEAMS
Sunday or Monday night will be the last time you can vote for the All 25 Season team. I will cut off the voting on one of those night, I may let it run through the Monday night game. Then over Thanksgiving Weekend will be Hall of Fame Weekend. So keep voting. We’ve had hundreds of votes case for each of the leading players. And the voting is very close.
GAME OF THE WEEK
One of my favorite matchups of the season, two ladies who’ve proven over the years they are more than capable of winning in the Brilliant Manufacturing FFL. And this season is no different.
The Willow Run Flyers will travel to Steel City FooBall this week. The Flyers are 6-4, in a close second place in the Lombardi division. Steel City FooBall is 7-3 and leading the Halas division. The Flyers will most likely use Joe Burrow, but Brock Purdy is a purdy good option too. Pretty save bet FooBall will be playing Jalen Hurts. This should be a good game between these two top teams.
