The Cincinnati Eagles rose to the Team of the Week with a 21 point performance from the Denver defense on Monday night. That must have been some game by Broncos considering they gave up 32 points. So all those points had to be from sacks, turnovers and scores. Regardless, it resulted in a 123-108 victory for the Eagles over Prestige Worldwide. Jared Goff added 20 more in the victory. Despite being 9-4 with one of the best records in the league, the Eagles are still stuck in second place in the Lombardi division.

Jayden Daniels won Player of the Week for the Willow Run Flyers, as the Flyers knocked off the Scammers 117-107. Daniels had 35 points in the win. It was another critical win for the Flyers, as they have now won four in a row and turn a disappointing season in the playoff promise.

In the game I highlighted last week, or at least I think I did, the Baloony Boiz beat Grande Fantasmas 105-97. Kyler Murray was game MVP with 21 for the Boiz. The win puts the Boiz right smack dab in the middle of the playoff fight, while Fantasmas loss may have officially ended their hopes.

Steel City FooBall remains the top team in the league. They beat the Ohio State Buckeyes in a somewhat low scoring affair (where else have a I heard that recently?!?!?). We had another Bucky sighting, as Bucky Irving led FooBall with 24 points. FooBall will earn the number one overall seed with a win this coming week.

Top and best are two different things. And while FooBall may end up with the best record, for my money the best team is the Gritz Blitz Falcons. They won again this week, though somewhat modestly, 96-83 over Rimskis Raiders. Joe Burrow had 31 in the victory. It is a bitter defeat for the Raiders, who drop to 5-8 and will likely need help this week to prolong their season.

The Old England Patriots probably punched their ticket to the playoffs with a 95-78 win over Florida SeaBreeze. Josh Allen had 32 points for the Patriots.

PLAYOFF SCENARIOS
Right now there is a very clean break in playoff positions. 6 or more wins are in, 5 or fewer wins are out. There are three six win teams and two five win teams. Any combination of those four could end up in a tie break situation that is decided by total points. Prestige Worldwide is more than 100 points up on any of the other teams that could end up in the tie. So the reality is there are four teams vying for two spots.

PESKY TO THE END
They are not going to make the playoffs, that fate has already been sealed. But Kickin Chicken continues to be a thorn in the side of teams trying to win division titles and make the playoffs. This week they beat Car Ramrod 121-103 to earn Team of the week honors. Jayden Daniels was the Player of the Week with 35 points. The Broncos defense added 21. Ramrod misses out on an opportunity to pull even with the Beercats, but I’ll get to that later.

Titans Kingless Court pulled out an important close game victory over Transformation Worldwide 107-105. Both teams are in the playoff hunt, and are probably safe at 7-6. But a win would have locked Transformation in. Sam Darnold was the BMOC for the Titans with 23. Points.

Bane probably made the playoff picture a moot points this week with their win over MomBall 108-96. They scored 108 despites no one player scoring twenty points. Instead, six players scored in double digits to lead a balanced attack against Momball.

The team probably most negatively impacted by Banes win was Shakedown. After a slow start, Shakedown appeared on the cusp of a Trump-like comeback, a phoenix rising from the ashes to claim a playoff spot. Then they flushed it all away in one game, losing to Down the Drain 111-102. Drain got 29 from Lamar Jackson and 24 from my man Bucky Irving.

I teased it earlier, and now I’ll circle back. The Beercats fell to Happy 104-99. That could have cost the Beercats first place had Ramrod won. As it stands, the Beercats are still up a game in the Shula division, and we’ll check out the playoff scenarios below to see if that division crown is secured.

Josh Allen got the Secret Scammers 32 to keep the Scammer very simp playoff chances it love. The Scammers beat Error 404 115-54, and are now 5-8.

Just like the BMFFL, there is a clean break between five and six win teams. There are only three teams who could end up in a tie for the last wildcard spot. But Bane has a huge advantage over Shakedown and the Scammers. Bane is up a game and has a forty point tie break advantage.

SURVIVIOR CHAMPION THIS IS WHY THEY CALL IT SURVIVOR. Kickin Chicken was the last team to win in the EWFFL. They started out 0-6. And that would leave may to assume they were the worst team, and in that time would have the lowest point total. But they never did. And after a presumably poor draft, by week five and six they were scoring 99 and 123 points. The Chicken that could was the John Travolta of the fantasy football world, Stayin’ Alive. Make me want to disco. Do the youngin’s in the league even know what disco is?

By the time Survivor was narrowed down to the best teams, there was Chicken, just getting ready to start kickin. Kicken Chicken has not scored under 90 points since week four. How many of you can say that. I’m not taking the time to look, you’ll have to volunteer that information. In their last seven games, they are 4-3 and have only scored under 100 once. That includes three losses scoring more than 100. That is just bad luck. This team is much better than their four win record would indicate. And now, Kickin Chicken is the 2024 Survivor Champion after outscoring the Gritz Blitz Falcons this week Congratulations Kickin Chicken, may this award, which comes with no prize money and minimal bragging rights, be some consolation on your 2025 fantasy season.

GAME OF THE WEEK
Forgive me if a take a week off and pick some very low hanging fruit for game of the week. Week 14 in the EWFFL has a matchup that is a true elimination game. The Scammers play Shakedown. Both teams are 5-8 and a game back of the final wildcard spot. The loser is automatically eliminated. The winner is not lock to get in, trailing Bane by dozens of points. So not only does the winner have to win this game, they have to outscore Bane.

There is an unfounded conspiracy theory floating around that the league commissioner, who watches over all fantasy games with a fair and unbiased eye, is considering pardoning several players from both Shakedown and Banes teams. Guys like Jordan Love and Kyren Williams from Shakedown. Or Brock Purdy (really, I’m gonna miss a playoff spot to a team who has Brock Purdy at QB. Elf me!), James Cook and Marvin Harrison Jr from Bane. A fool pardon from the league commissioner gives these warriors a much needed week off, an earned rest after a long season. All pardons are issued around 12:55 PM on Sunday afternoons. Just something to pay attention to.
