You know what makes it easier to win games. When your wide receivers combine for 78 points. That is exactly what the Great Dismal Swamp Monsters got from their two wideouts this weekend as DJ Moore scored 41 on Thursday Night, and Jamar Chase added 37 on Sunday. Oh, to top things off, Jalen Hurts added 32. Those three alone would have beaten the Flippin Birds. But the Swamp Monsters used the rest of the team to pile on to a 159-94 victory. DJ Moore was Player of the Week.
The best game of the week saw the Renegades pull out a win over the Kentucky Moondogs. The Renegades leading scorer was the Saints defense, always a nice gift to get. That was enough for a 105-100 Renegades decision. It’s a big win for the Renegades as it keeps them in the pack.
There’s really not a lot else to call out. The Scammers won, advancing to 4-1 and the league’s best record. The Scammers beat the Oky Ducks 115-81. Elsewhere, the Warriors beat I Got Boom 125-89, Dan’s Destroyers dropped the Marauders 116-87 and Lamar You Serious beat Multiple Scoregasms 84-61.
SURVIVOR
Despite winning their game, Lamar You Serious could not hold onto a spot on Survivor Island. Lamar is the fifth team eliminated this season.
STANDINGS CHECK
We are entering week six. An important week, as this is the first of three all division game weeks during the season. So you’ll want to bring you’re a game this week.
Nobody has more than a game lead. The Scammers have the best record at 4-1 in the Paul Brown division. They are a game up on Boom and the Destroyers. The Renegades are another game back in fourth.
The Moondogs are atop the Halas division at 3-2. The Marauders are one back, but they just suffered a significant injury this past week. The Ducks are third at 1-4 and the Flippin Birds have officially entered desperation mode at 0-5.
Then there is the Lombardi division. All four teams are 3-2. Makes the games this weekend really important.
GAME OF THE WEEK
I can’t not go to the Lombardi division for the Game of the Week. Actually, I’m going to treat myself and call both games the game of the week.
Lamar You Serious heads to the Warriors in week six for their division matchup. The Warriors have a seemingly healthy Joe Burrow. He’ll square off against Lamar’s yest to be injured Lamar Jackson. This may literally be a last man standing contest.
In the other game, the Great Dismal Swamp Monsters come east to play Multiple Scoregasms. Jalen Hurts has been fantasy gold the last two years. If I remember right, Scoregasms rode him to a league title last year. But the Swamp Monsters have Hurts this season. And Scoregasms may be hampered because Kirk Cousins lost his number one target this week.
