The Tailgaters Hall of Fame is adding two NFL greats to its walls. One is a current star, swiftly making a name for himself as an all time great at his position. The other is a slightly under appreciated players who stats have him near the top of the NFL at his position.
Travis Kelce
Hard to believe this University of Cincinnati product has already been in the NFL more than a decade. He has accumulated massive numbers over his career. Kelce is a two time Player of the Year in the TFFL. He won the award in 2022 with El Diablo and previously in 2020 with the Flippin Birds.
Kelce’s best season was that 2020 campaign. He scored 207 fantasy points on 1400 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns. Still active, he has time to accumulate even more stats.
This is an era of great Tight Ends in football, and Kelce becomes the sixth at the position to make the TFFL HOF. He joins Tony Gonzalez, Shannon Sharpe, Jimmy Graham, Antonio Gates and Rob Gronkowski.
Curits Martin
If you were asked to list the top ten running backs in yards gained in NFL history, Curtis Martin is a name you might forget to include. He currently ranks sixth with over 14,000 rushing yards. He is ahead of the likes of LaDainian Tomlinson, Eric Dickerson, Tony Dorsett, Jim Brown and Marshall Faulk.
Martin’s career started in 1995, coinciding perfectly with the origins of the TFFL. Martin was inducted last year to the All Time Fantasy Football last season, and is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. His best season in the TFFL came as a member of the Tri State Trojans, amassing 278 fantasy points and a season that saw him gain 1900 yards in rushing and receiving combined, with 14 total touchdowns.
