IGot Boom is the Team of the Week in a relatively low score week in the league. Boom beat Multiple Scoregasms 123-103. Patrick Mahomes earned Player of the Week honors with a 43 point performance. Jonathon Taylor, working his way back from injury and hold out added 18.
Best game of the week was a Monday Night Thrilla’. Thanks to my peep Mike (I like it when owners points out what there team did, ‘cause I don’t always see it. You can always text me when your team does something good… 513 709 3306) for cluing me in. What look like a pending loss to Whitman Hart rival Oky Ducks, The Marauders fought back on Monday thanks in no small part to the performance of Jordan Addison who had 24. That was enough to top the Ducks 105-103. The Scammers enjoyed a bit of good fortune in the same game, getting just enough points from their tight end to top the Flippin Birds 86-83. Anytime you can win with less than 90 points, its luck, not skill. The Scammers fear their luck will run out soon, but at the midway point it has them with the best record in the league at 6-1. The good games just keep coming. Three games this week decided by less than five points. Dans Destroyers had the other photo finish, beating the Kentucky Moondogs 105-101. It looked like the Moondogs spent too much time joking around this weekend (fb photo reference… sadly I did not see Harley Quinn with the Joker) and it cost them. Tyrod Taylor led all scorers with 25. First half of the season has been a struggle for the Renegades, but this weekend saw them explode for a 113-84 win over Lamar You Serious. Travis Kelce scored a very swift 23 points, and rumor has it scored again after the game. Gus Edwards added 20 for the Renegades. The Great Dismal Swamp Monsters earned the last victory of the weekend. They beat the Warriors 105-70. Jalen Hurts had 31 in the win. Both teams are now 4-3 and very much in the playoff race. SURVIVOR Not only did the Birds lose a tough game, they flew off Survivor Island. At least the Birds don’t get wet leaving the island, but they do have to leave. MID SEASON REPORT As we hit the halfway point, it is another very competitive season. The Scammers are the top team at mid season. The Scammers are 6-1 a top the Brown division. I Got Boom is hot on the Scammers heals at 5-2, and are actually the top scoring team in the league. So maybe Boom is actually the better team. The other two divisions are lead by 4-3 teams. The Moondogs alone atop the Halas division. The Marauders are only a game back and threatening. I’ll talk about the rest of the division in a minute. The Lombardi division has three leaders. The Great Dismal Swamp Monsters lead based on points, but are tied with the Warriors and Multiple Scoregasms. Lamar You Serious is only one game back. So this is shaping up to be the most exciting division this season. At the other end of the spectrum is the bottom of the Halas division. Both the Birds and Oky Ducks are 1-6. To make matters worse for them, they are two games back of the next highest team. There are three teams at 3-4, and that is where the cutoff for the playoffs would be. Right now it would be the Marauders who would make the playoffs. They are nearly one hundred points ahead of the Renegades, and more than a hundred up on Lamar You Serious. So advantage Marauders at this point. GAME OF THE WEEK 
Game of the week features two league originals, and two teams with winning records. The Scammers take their league best record on the road to face Dans Destroyers. The Scammers may have the find of the season in Tua Tagovailoa at QB. At the time of this article, it is unclear who will be under center for the Destroyers. Looks like that will be a game time decision. Saquon Barkley is the workhorse for the Destroyers. |
