Damn it. I had a much better headline all ready to go if BOOM hadn’t hogged another TOW. I blame the Buffalo Bills. Josh Allen scored 37 Monday night and the Bills Defense added 23. That’s a sixty point Monday Night for Boom, who claimed their second consecutive Team of the Week to open the season. The Kentucky Moondogs probably didn’t know what hit them, and ended up with a fifty point loss.

Lamar Jackson earned Player of the Week honors with 48 points. Despite his NFL team losing (“boo-hoo”). Nick Chubb added 29 for Lamar You Serious, who won the most exciting game of the week 150-141 over the Warriors. Wouldn’t it have been funny if Jackson had scored 48 points and lost both his NFL game and his fantasy game this week. For the record, that is win number 1 for Lamar You Serious, leaving him just behind… well I’ll get to that later.

The next best performance of the week was turned in by the Oky Ducks, who extinguished El Diablo 132-74. The Ducks are one of three teams who’ve started 2-0. Obviously Boom is another, and the third I’ll get to in a minute.

Nothing really exciting from the other games this week. The Marauders picked up their first wine of the season. So did Multiple Scoregasms. The Flippin Birds didn’t put up many digits, and that got them booted off Survivor Island.

LONG LIVE THE KING

OK, I’m betting you are thinking this is a cheap dead queen reference. Y’all should now I’m far too classy to go there. No, my King reference is for a far more royal and prestigious monarch.

Richard Petty has long been known as the King. He was to NASCAR what Babe Ruth was to baseball, Arnold Palmer to golf. And The King ended his NASCAR career with an unmatched, likely unapproachable 200 career wins.

So why I am talking about Richard Petty? Well, simply put, we have our own King now. Dans Destroyers victory on Sunday was their 200th all time. They are the first team to reach the two hundred win mark, and are a whopping twenty six wins ahead of the next closest team in all time wins.

Its well known Dan was the first three time champion in the league. Twenty of his two hundred wins have come in the playoffs. His .578 winning percentage is best among active owners and all owners with at least 100 games played.

I for one appreciate not only Dan’s accomplishment, but his longevity in the league. Dans is one of only three original owners still hanging around (Rob Collins and me being the other two). We now have five owner over twenty years, and ten over ten. And that fact we’ve stayed together long enough for one team to win two hundred games is a credit to everyone who’s played in the league.

CONGRATULATIONS DAN on your 200th career win

GAME OF THE WEEK

I can’t really claim any great matchup this week. Two of the three 2-0 teams are playing 0-2 teams. That include the afore mentioned Destroyers, who will hopefully go easy on the Scammers after all those nice words in the previous section of the article.

So I’m going to go to the land of the absurd. Igot Boom is dominating everyone. They’ve outscored the rest of the league by a whopping fifty points in the first two weeks. They actually have double the points scored of the Great Dismal Swamp Monsters. And this week they play the Flippin Birds… who scored fifty this week.

So why the hell am I picking this for Game of the Week. Well, I have two angles. One is the potential for the most lopsided victory in league history. To set that mark, Boom would have to eclipse the 104 point victory by the Kentucky Moondogs over the Oky Ducks in week two 2015.

The other angle is the potential for an all time upset. Something along the lines of Appalachian State over Michigan, what a glorious day that was.

Either way, this game has the potential for the dramatic. It likely won’t deliver, but I’m only here to hype things up.
